About This Page

The standard time frame you have to file an insurance claim in Texas is 1 year from the date of loss. So, we have taken the time to compile a list of all hail storm events, along with their respective storm maps, that have affected the DFW region of North Texas within the last year. The image to the right shows a radar storm map of every hail storm in 2024. As you can see, pretty much every home in and around DFW has had at least some hail in the last year…You can’t even tell it’s DFW because there are so many storms mapped over it. Unfortunately, this is fairly common for this area of North Texas. That is why it is so important to have your roof looked at every year to make sure it is still in good enough shape to stand up to the weather we constantly get in this part of the country.

The good news is that even though every storm causes a little wear and tear, not every storm is going to punch holes in the roof. That is why, below, we are only going to mention the noteworthy storms. The duration of the storm and the density of the hail are major factors that come into play in whether or not a hail stone is going to cause damage. However, generally speaking, hail will usually start causing significant damage at around the inch and a half range. So, since there are SO MANY storms every year, we are only going to map the storms that dropped at least 1″ hail.
