Once your claim is submitted, expect a call from your insurance company to arrange the adjuster’s appointment.

Moving forward, whenever your insurance provider reaches out with questions, your standard reply should be, “That’s an interesting question; I’ll have you discuss it with my contractor, please.”

During the adjuster appointment, a representative from Davis Roofing Solutions will be present on-site to facilitate the approval of your roof by your insurance provider. The absence of a contractor at this meeting significantly reduces the chances of your roof being approved for coverage.

After your insurance provider declares the roof a total loss, they will prepare an estimate for the repair costs, referred to as the Replacement Cost Value (RCV). The roof’s age is used to calculate depreciation, which is then deducted from the RCV. What’s left after depreciation is known as the Actual Cost Value (ACV). From this amount, your deductible is subtracted since this part of the cost is your obligation, not the insurer’s. The amount that remains is termed the Net Claim, which will be the sum of the initial check issued by your insurance provider.

Upon receiving your initial insurance check, we will collect it along with your deductible at the same time. Your only action is to endorse the insurance check; there’s no need for you to cash or deposit it yourself. We will handle the deposit of these two checks into our account and proceed to schedule your installation.

NOTE: Oftentimes, your mortgage company will be listed on the check.
We will take care of getting that endorsement for you.
All you will need to do is sign an authorization form and we will take care of the rest.

The installation process usually spans a single day. We request that you secure any delicate lawn decorations or items and relocate your vehicles from the driveway. This allows us to park our trailer and materials nearby and helps prevent any damage to your vehicle during the installation phase.

Frequently, claims will encompass additional work like gutters, window screens, fencing, garage doors, chimney flue caps, chimney crowns, and more. We aim to address and complete these additional aspects of the claim promptly following the roof installation.

Once all work related to the claim is finished, we’ll forward a final invoice and a certificate of completion to your insurance company and discuss any additional payments required. Following our submission, your insurer might reach out to verify the completion of the work. It’s important that you consult with us prior to confirming anything with your insurance provider. When the insurance company concludes the claim process, they will issue the depreciation check along with any other outstanding amounts.

Upon receiving the final payment, similar to the initial check, your only task is to endorse it and hand it over to us. We’ll handle stamping and depositing it, concluding your project. At the project’s closure, we will process your manufacturer warranty and, if applicable, provide you with a form for either class 3 or class 4, enabling you to discuss your premium adjustments with your insurance provider.
