Once your claim has been submitted, anticipate a call from your insurance company to arrange an appointment with the adjuster.

Moving forward, whenever your insurance provider poses any questions, your standard response should be, “That’s an interesting question; could you please discuss that with my contractor?”

During the adjuster meeting, a Davis Roofing Solutions representative will be present to advocate for the approval of your roof by the insurance company. The absence of a contractor at this appointment significantly decreases the likelihood of your roof being covered.

After your insurance company has determined your roof to be a total loss, they will prepare an estimate for the repair costs, known as the Replacement Cost Value (RCV). The depreciation amount, influenced by the roof’s age, is then deducted from the RCV. What remains after depreciation is termed the Actual Cost Value (ACV). From this figure, your deductible is subtracted, as this expense falls under your responsibility, not that of the insurance carrier. The amount left after these deductions is referred to as the Net Claim, which will equal the sum of the initial check issued by your insurance provider.

Upon receipt of your initial check, we will collect it along with your deductible at the same time. Your sole action is to endorse the insurance check; there’s no need for you to cash or deposit it yourself. We’ll handle the deposit of these two checks into our bank account and then proceed to schedule your installation.

NOTE: It’s common for your mortgage company to be named on the check. We’ll handle obtaining their endorsement for you.
Simply sign an authorization form, and we’ll manage everything else on your behalf.

The installation process is generally completed within a day. We request that you secure any delicate lawn decorations or items and clear your vehicles from the driveway. This enables us to park our trailer and store materials conveniently, also ensuring your vehicle remains undamaged during the installation.

Claims often encompass additional services such as gutters, window screens, fencing, garage doors, chimney flue caps, chimney crowns, etc. We commit to addressing all related aspects of the claim swiftly after the roof installation.

Upon finalizing all related services, we will forward a conclusive invoice and completion certificate to your insurance company and negotiate any further payments. Following this, your insurer may seek your confirmation of the work’s completion. Please consult with us before affirming anything to your insurer. Once the claim is fully processed, your insurance will issue the depreciation check along with any other pending amounts.

Receiving the final payment mirrors the process of the initial check: simply endorse it and hand it over to us. We’ll take care of stamping, depositing, and finalizing your project. At project completion, we’ll process your manufacturer warranty and, if eligible, provide you with a class 3 or class 4 form, assisting you in negotiating your insurance premium.
